About Raices Bilingual Speech Therapy
The Purpose of Raices Bilingual:
Raices Bilingual Speech Therapy was founded to fill a clear need: bilingual families often face barriers when seeking speech and language support for their children. These families deserve services that respect and reflect their languages, cultures, and communication goals. Raices was created to make those services accessible, culturally responsive, and practical.
Why Raices was created
Reduce access barriers: Families often encounter long waitlists, limited bilingual providers, or confusing referral systems. Raíces focuses on streamlined intake, flexible scheduling, and clear guidance so families can get help sooner.
Honor culture and language: Language is tied to identity and family cohesion. Raices supports home languages and helps families make informed decisions about language use and therapy goals.
What Raices provides beyond therapy
Bilingual speech and language therapy plans that consider both languages a child uses and works alongside child and families
Parent education and coaching to support carryover of skills at home, school, and in the community.
Resource navigation: help locating school supports, early intervention services, and community programs.
Approach and values
Evidence-informed practice: indivualized treatment and interventions follow current research on bilingual language development under the direct supervision of a speech pathologist.
Family-centered: families’ priorities, cultural values, and communication goals when working on goals in speech/language therapy.
Practical and strengths-based: therapists build on children’s existing abilities and provide clear, actionable strategies families can use every day at home.
Inclusive access: Raices aims to reduce logistical and informational obstacles so more bilingual children receive timely, appropriate support.
The goal Raices exists to ensure bilingual families can access high-quality speech and language services and the broader supports they need—help that respects their cultural background , empowers caregivers, and sets children up for lifelong communication success no matter what.
